Originally drawn during a period of reflecting on anxious attachment and the feeling of making a fool of yourself in pursuit of someone emotionally unavailable, Harlequin became an exploration of vulnerability disguised as performance.
 
As The Fool, the drawing takes on another meaning. The card speaks of innocence, optimism and the courage to step into the unknown, even when there is every chance of falling. The jester stands at the edge between hope and heartbreak, reminding us that beginning again always requires the willingness to appear foolish.
