For The Hierophant, I wanted to explore discipline, devotion and our relationship with order without relying too heavily on traditional religious iconography. The bowed figure of a young acolyte suggests respect for something larger than himself, whether understood as faith, tradition, knowledge or a chosen way of life.
 
The Hierophant represents guidance, shared belief and the structures through which knowledge is passed from one person to another. Here, that meaning becomes more personal. The figure is still learning, listening and submitting himself to the discipline required to follow a path.
